procedure

Sugar paste is created with a natural formula- only sugar, water, and lemon. Its gentle consistency molds onto skin at a comfortable room or body temperature. Sugar paste does not stick to live skin cells like wax, therefore does not have the same sensitive burning sensation on the skin afterwards. The sugar paste only sticks to the very top layer of dead skin cells and to the hair itself, which is the perfect combination for a light exfoliation and clean, silky smooth skin. Unlike wax, sugar paste has the ability to seep down into the follicles and grab the hair by the root to effectively remove the hair without breakage. It is removed in the same direction of hair growth, which causes much less distortion to the natural follicle. Both these factors largely contribute to a reduction of ingrown hairs and longer lasting results!

pre-sugaring:

No shaving for about 2 weeks, or until hair is grown out to be at least 1/4 inch.
Regular exfoliation is recommended for easier hair removal.
Please do not plan to come in for a sugaring appointment immediately after hot yoga or exercising. Warm body temperatures and sweating cause sugar to adhere to hairs less effectively.
Avoid applying lotion and oils the day of your appointment.
Discontinue use of all retinoids at least 5 days before face sugaring.
Do not tan within 48 hours of your sugaring appointment.

POst-sugaring:

Do not touch freshly sugared area for 12 hours to prevent dirt and oil from clogging follicles.
Avoid exercise and sweating for 24 hours.
Avoid exfoliation and active skin care products for 48 hours.
Avoid hot tubs, pools, lakes, ocean, and steam rooms for 24 hours.
Avoid tanning and sun exposure for 48 hours. Always use SPF.
For face sugaring, sleep on a clean pillow case and avoid makeup for 24 hours.
Keep up with regular exfoliation and moisturizing between sugaring appointments to avoid ingrown hairs.
