PROCEDURE

Surgical scalpel removes dead skin and peach fuzz

Dermaplaning is an exfoliating facial treatment that removes dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz). The process involves using a specialized dermaplane blade of surgical quality to “shave” the skin in a completely painless and gentle motion. The removal of the dull epidermal layer will immediately brighten the skin and reduce texture and fine lines. Following the treatment, skin care products will be able to absorb and perform much more efficiently in the skin, and an ultra smooth surface will allow makeup to appear flawless!

Pre-Treatment

Use protection when exposed to UV rays to avoid sun burns.
Discontinue use of retinoids and exfoliation products for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid facial hair removal 7 days prior to treatment.
For skin prone to hyper pigmentation (typically darker skin tones) use a brightening serum or toner with natural tyrosinase inhibitors to avoid potential post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Post-treatment

Do not use abrasive wash clothes, active cleansers, cleansing devices, or hot water for 5 days post treatment.
Discontinue retinoids, exfoliation products, and benzoyl peroxide for at least 5 days post treatment.
Delay exposure to excessive heat, heavy workouts, saunas, and steam rooms for 48 hours.
Always avoid sun exposure as much as possible. Wear a hat and seek shade.
SPF is essential. Re-apply every two hours. Skin is more vulnerable to UV damage after dermaplaning.
Wait at least 7 days post treatment for facial hair removal.
Use a hydrating moisturizer twice daily.
For darker skin tones, use a brightening serum to avoid potential post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Use clean makeup brushes.
Sleep on a clean pillowcase.
Schedule next treatment 4-6 weeks apart to continue results.

Severe acneic skin types.
Cancer therapy: Chemotherapy, radiation.
Tretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, EpiDuo, Ziana, and high-percentage AHA and BHA products: Discontinue use at least 5 days prior to treatment.
Eczema, dermatitis, malignant skin tumors, open lesions, lupus, active cold sores, and keratoses.
Allergy to metal or nickel.
