Chemical Peel

Chemical peels are safe and effective in correcting and preventing those struggling with congestion, hyper-pigmentation (freckles, dark spots), textured looking skin, acne scars, and aging skin. 

Chemical peels active ingredients consist of mostly hydroxy acids. Various formulas are available to suit an individual's skin type and goals. Peels work in the deep layers of the skin to trigger the natural exfoliation process and reveal healthy new skin cells. The rapid cell turnover causes the top layers of skin to shed over the course of 2-10 days. The severity of noticeable peeling is dependent on the skin's current condition. After the healing process, skin tone will appear even, brightened, and smooth. Full treatment includes a deep cleanse, peel solution, corrective serums, and moisturizer.

• Discontinue all retinoids and exfoliants for 7-10 days prior to treatment.
• Avoid unprotected sun exposure. Apply SPF daily.
• For skin prone to hyper-pigmentation (typically darker skin tones) use a brightening serum with natural tyrosinase inhibitors to avoid potential post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Must AVOID:

• Direct sunlight, must wear SPF daily.
• Active facial ingredients for 7-10 days.
• Picking at flaking skin.
• Tanning.
• Hot water or blowdryers directly on face.
• Applying ice to the treatment area.
• Swimming and activities that would cause excessive perspiration for 2 days.
• Facial waxing for 2 weeks.

• Accutane: 1 year off.
• Pregnant or lactating.
• Sunburned or compromised skin.
• Active cold sores, acne lesions, or facial rash.
• Serious medical condition: Heart condition, immunity disorder, diabetes etc.
• Medications: Diabetes Type 2, lupus, chemotherapy.
• Permanent cosmetics: Wait 7 days then cover with occlusive barrier.
• Rosacea- will need to be evaluated.
• Facial waxing requires a 72 hour waiting period.

Chemical peels speed up the skin's natural exfoliation process, encouraging cell turnover that leaves the skin looking fresh and healthy. The exfoliation result is often seen in the form of peeling or flaking that lasts a couple days. 

Select ingredients in the peel solution are also working to create new cells that function properly, not only visibly improving the skin, but correcting deep within the skin.
